Q: How do I integrate iHomefinder into my website?
A: iHomefinder can be easily framed, or wrapped into your site. We provide you with URLs that you can use for easy framing. Alternatively, you can upload your branding directly to iHomefinder, which we call a “wrapper”. If you use a wrapper, your tools can be accessed from a URL like yourdomain.idxre.com.

Q: How do VOW and IDX feeds differ?
A: A VOW and IDX feed are similar in most regards. They both allow consumers to search for homes on a realtor's website. The feeds differ in two tiny ways. 1) VOW feeds require a user to register before searching for listings. 2) As a result of the registration requirement, VOW feeds may allow site visitors to view more detailed listing information. At this time, iHomefinder deals exclusively with IDX feeds.

Q: How does iHomefinder handle sold & pending listings?
A: When a property enters pending or sold status it is automatically saved in your iHomefinder control panel. Displaying a property on your sold page is as simple as changing its status in your control panel. Your featured properties page must be correctly configured for this to work.

Q: Can I mask idxre.com and replace it with my own domain name?
A: Yes, you can use a CNAME record to display www.yourdomain.com in place of iHomefinder's standard URL, yourdomain.idxre.com. It is important that you use a CNAME record, and NOT an ANAME record. Our IP address is subject to change as we upgrade and perform maintenance on our servers. The CNAME record will ensure your link always work.

Q: I would like to use an MLS board that iHomefinder does not currently carry, can it be added?
A: Yes! We are always looking for ways to improve our comprehensive nation-wide MLS coverage. Email support@ihomefinder.com with the website address and name of your desired MLS, and we will gladly investigate its addition.

Q: What constitutes a "search impression"?
A: A search impression is tallied every time a visitor views a Hot Sheet, visits your Featured Properties page, or performs a search. A search impression is also counted any time an email update is sent. The summary report in your iHomefinder control panel will show you the total number of search impressions for this month.

Q: How do I check the status of my IDX paperwork?
A: iHomefinder processes most paperwork within 24 to 48 hours of receipt. After we process your paperwork, it is sent off to the board for approval. MLS boards can take anywhere between 2 days to 2 weeks to process. If you would like to check on the status of your approval, you can follow up directly with your MLS. Alternatively, iHomefinder's knowledgeable MLS staff may be reached at idxapproval@ihomefinder.com. We are happy to follow up on your behalf.

Q: I recently uploaded a new property to the MLS. How soon will it appear on iHomefinder?
A: iHomefinder checks for new listings at least once every 24 hours. Some MLS boards may take a day to process new listings. Other MLS boards allow us to update multiple times a day. In general, a listing will appear on your site within one to three days of its posting.

Q: Some listings are absent from my featured properties page. Why?
A: Many MLS boards have toggles that allow or disallow a listing to show over IDX. Common settings include 'IDX (Y/N)' or 'Show on Internet (Y/N)' which must be set to YES. Other settings like 'Office Exclusive Property' or ‘Private Listing' must need to be set to NO. Contact your MLS for more information.

Q: My property shows up on iHomefinder but the photos do not! Where are they?
A: Many MLS boards send photos separately from listings. Photos may take three to five days to appear on a new listing. You can manually trigger a photo update by adding and then immediately deleting an image from a listing. You can also contact support@ihomefinder.com, and we will happily research property photos. If you contact iHomefinder Support, please remember to include an MLS number for the property you want researched.
