St. Augustine is a city located in the northeast Florida and is the county seat of St. Johns County.  It lies in a region of Florida known as the “First Coast,” an area which stretches from Amelia Island in the north to Jacksonville, St. Augustine, and Palm Coast in the south. The city was founded in 1565 and is the oldest continuously occupied European established city and port in the continental US. Currently, the Florida National Guard’s headquarters are in St. Augustine.

As of the 2010 census, St. Augustine’s population was 12,975. St. Johns County’s population was 190,039 as of the 2010 census. This county is one of the highest-income counties in the US because of the city of Ponte Vedra Beach.
